Winfield Street Coffee is coming to the Ferguson Library this summer, The coffee shop will offer Counter Culture Coffee, Battenkill Milk and Hudson Valley Harvest produce along with other local products along with fresh baked goods, sandwiches, and salads. It will open in the former Starbucks space in late summer.
Owner Breno Donatti also operates the Winfield Street Italian Deli in Westport and another Winfield Street Coffee at the Croton-Harmon train station in Croton-on-Hudson New York. He lives in Stamford with his family.
"The location at The Ferguson Library is very special to me, personally," says Breno. "I met my wife exactly 10 years ago right on the steps of The Ferguson Library. I believe that coffee shops and libraries are just a natural fit. This community is excellent, and the library is what glues the city together. We intend to bring the same joyful hospitality and creative food we have at our other locations."
Domus, a nonprofit which serves high-risk youth in Stamford, will help design and construct the new space. Once the café is open, Winfield will provide employment opportunities for young people enrolled in Domus' programs.
